New lease of life for site at centre of village

The former Reading Room and Old Schoolhouse in the village of Kincardine O’Neil is set for a new lease of life following its sale by Kincardine Estate. The Old Schoolhouse had been vacant for some time and renovation of the derelict Reading Room ( aka 'The Roomie') was no longer an imminent possibility for the Estate in the current climate due to other major projects underway.

The sale will enable this prominent house to be brought back into use and enable the redevelopment of the old Reading Room which would otherwise lie derelict in the centre of the village for some years to come. Andrew Bradford, owner of Kincardine Estate said “Whilst we are not generally in the business of selling off parts of the Estate, it was clear that someone else could make better use of these particular properties and that we could enable the redevelopment of the Roomie and improve the look of the village more quickly by passing on the site to a new owner.”
